Physical Appearance: First make sure you've read how exactly the Sceadu
differ from everyone else in the Guide section. Then please write a brief but rich
description of their hair, eyes, face shape, skin tone, height, build, preferred
clothing style, scars, jewelry, markings.
In Life: This doesn't need to be a novel but describe the key points that made
up their former existence up until they died. Where were they born? Who are
their family and friends? What was their ultimate goal in life and did they
accomplish it?
In Death: How did they die? Do they have any memory of it? What do they miss
about being alive? Do they miss being dead?
Personality: Paint me a verbal picture of what made them who they
are. Their
likes, dislikes, hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, goals, fears. And again, a
novel isn't necessary, but show me you really know who you're writing for.
SCEADU
Armor: Since they're more like ghosts than anything they don't have much need
for armor so if they do wear it, it will most likely be leather close to what
the Niam dress in.
Weapon: Because weight isn't much of an issue, they don't have to worry about
keeping to lighter weapons like the Niam do. Swords, long swords, axes, bows,
longbows, cross bows, daggers, pikes. Remember that almost all of the Sceadu
will have battle in their background in some form, so if they like to carry a
bow as well as a pair of daggers, so be it. They get to mix it up.
Mist Ability: Not having a living body has a few up-sides, one of the most powerful
being how strongly they are connected to the inner workings of those who are
living. They see and sense things it's impossible for those who are living to
even comprehend. So Aleha lets them use her Black Mist to effect humans, as well
as the Iafross, both mentally and emotionally. Not only that but they can also
"merge" themselves with the Black Mist, becoming seemingly invisible in the
darkness and a black shady blur in the light. It can be handy in attacks
letting them dodge weapons attacks momentarily or confuse their enemy.
Unfortunately there's something about the teeth and claws of the Iafross that
can still catch them when they're in this form. If your character was on the
emotionally sensitive side when living they'll be able to use the Black Mist in some way
to effect the emotions of others. If they were more of an intellectual they'll have the
abilities to effect the thoughts of others. Not mind-control, but
influence. If they were the kind
who had vivid, almost prophetic dreams, they'll be able to effect
the dreams of those who are sleeping. Be creative because this can be a lot of
fun, but please don't go overboard. So what are their mental or emotional
abilities? Does it effect a certain type of person more than others?
How do they trigger it using the Black Mist? Two offensive and one defensive
ability. Please describe them as best you can.
Supply and Demand: Please describe the weaknesses and limitations of their mist
ability. Can it be blocked or stopped by certain magics more than
others? Can they use it simultaneously during
physical attacks as long as at least one hand is free? Will an emotional ability not effect those who are more
intellectual than sensitive?
Horse: Their four legged companion from Prinek, give me a little information
about the look and temperament of their trusty steed (that aren't ghost horses
with flames shooting out of their noses so don't get excited, they're just war horses).
INTRODUCTION
To give us an idea of your writing skills, please write at least a half page of
a day in the life of your character. Don’t forget to include action, dialogue,
and if it’s clever and funny you’ll get extra points! Not that there’s a
point system, I’m just trying to entice you with verbal cookies.
