To create a character that fits into an original world, you first need to
have a real grasp on both that world and the character. Yes it can be
exciting to start typing the second that new voice starts chattering away in
your brain box. But make sure you flesh them out before you press the send
button on the application because if you don't really know them it will show.

Finally, what we're looking for:
1 - SPUNK! Have it, but not the kind that overpowers people.
2 - Understanding of what the world and the writers are all about.
3 - Creative drive and original voices.
4 - Love for BL.
5 - Love for grammar and all things wordy.
6 - Skeletons in closets, hookers without hearts of gold, vices, weaknesses,
secrets, quirks that could out-quirk Quinton Tarantino.
What we're not looking for:
1 - Mary Sue or her brother Gary. Or their neighbor Legolas.
2 - Perfection in personality or physicality. Flaws will earn smiles.
3 - "Nothing but good intentions" syndrome.
4 - Everyone-in-their-family-died-so-they're-going-to-save-the-world or the other
classic Woe-is-me-they-all-died-I-hate-the-world. Too specific?
5 - A character that has it all figured out or knows all the secrets.
6 - Writers who like to hog the ball; share and share alike.
